This has to be one of the easiest Recipes to make, provided you follow the steps. Here are two simple videos to show you how to make Tandoori Chicken at home.

The Marinade:

The marinade is for 1 kg chicken.

1 tsp chilli powder; 1/4 tsp turmeric powder; 1 tsp salt; juice of half a lime; 1/2 cup curds. Mix together and marinade the chicken overnight in the refrigerator. Tomorrow, I will show you how to cook/grill it. Join me at 12 noon for a quick demo.

It’s best to eat at home and avoid going out during the lockdown.

Stay safe people.

The Recipe For Tandoori Chicken continues:

Take the marinaded chicken out of the refrigerator and bring to room temperature before cooking. Heat a seasoned /oiled grill pan on high heat for a minute. Lower heat to medium and add the chicken. Cook for 2 or 3 minutes each side. Serve with baby cucumbers, and slices of lime as a snack or as a side dish with rice and dhal.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to watch me. This is something new for me and I hope to increase my confidence through practice. What I just showed you was the very basic of all tandoori chicken recipes. You could add 1 tsp each of crushed ginger and garlic, 1 tsp coriander powder and 1/2 tsp jeera ( cumin seed ) powder to the marinade for a more advanced Tandoori Chicken.
I like to use a grill pan on the stove top for 2 reasons- better visibility and because it is so much easier. Sometimes I grill it in the oven for 5 minutes each side at the highest temperature. When I am feeling lazy, I get my husband to BBQ it. Everything works and it’s up to you to find your favourite medium of cooking.
I find it very therapeutic to cook for my family and with movement restricted in Kuala Lumpur, what better way to celebrate than with family and online friends.
