Baked Onion Hack

Here’s a hack to bake onions in your oven, giving you more time to multi-task. I discovered this secret (Baked Onion Hack) some years ago. So whenever, I require some, I get my spouse to slice large quantities of onions while watching TV. It really comes in handy as I use a lot of onions in my cooking classes and also in my daily cooking. Store in the fridge and make some more when it gets over. Let me know if you tried it. You may find it so convenient that you will be using this Baked Onion Hack all the time.

Finely sliced onions are used extensively in Indian Cooking.

The Recipe For Baked Onion Hack

Ingredients:

6 large onions

Salt to taste

1 tbsp oil

Method:

Slice 6 large onions using a mandolin for even slices.

Place in a dish. Add 1 tbsp oil and 1/2 tsp salt. Mix well.

Spread on foil on a baking tray.

Bake in preheated oven at 200 C/350F approximately for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, mix and bake again for 20 minutes.

Repeat (mix and bake) again for 20 minutes. By this time your onions should be done. Use them as desired.

You can also fry them the traditional way which takes a lot of oil and more energy as you have to monitor it all the time.
