Pineapple Beer Recipe

Pineapple Beer Recipe
This easy fermented Pineapple Beer recipe can be made with limited supplies, is good for gut health and similar to kombucha. This is an ancient recipe that I discovered on Pinterest a few years ago and started making regularly as I was fascinated that the skin of the Pineapple could be used. It is great for your gut and dates back to the pre-columbian era. Only thing is that it was made with corn back then. . Pineapple Beer is
- High in Vitamin A, B and minerals like magnesium
- Fights intestinal parasite
- Restores intestinal flora (good for gut health!)
- It’s a diuretic
Recently, a friend of mine sent me a variation of this ancient drink which is trending on social media as Pineapple Beer. Since I have made this particular variation, I decided to post it as it’s one drink I could have over and over again. Cheers to my friend Rose for keeping me inspired. Wish I could send a few bottles to you.
Ingredients For Pineapple Beer Recipe:
1 large ripe pineapple, peeled and chopped
1 cup granulated sugar
8 cups water
1 teaspoon active dry yeast
1 lemon, sliced
1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
Mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
Method:
Wash the Pineapple thoroughly.
Skin the pineapple and chop it into small pieces along with the core.
Place the chopped pineapple, sugar, water, lemon slices, and ginger slices in a three litre jar.
Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the mixture. Stir well to dissolve the yeast and sugar.
Cover with a clean cloth and let it sit at room temperature for 24-48 hours for fermentation. Stir the mixture a few times a day.
The fermentation time can be adjusted to suit your taste. A shorter time will result in a sweeter drink, while a longer time will make it more alcoholic.
I like it sweet, so I strain it on the 3rd day.
Strain and Bottle. Consume within a week. The taste and flavour changes the longer it is kept.
