Beauty Begins With Your Gut!

Almost all of us suffer from some issues related to our skin. It is really a blessing to be born with a flawless and radiant skin. Problems of skin can be a result of various factors like aging, improper diet, too much sun exposure etc.

I know it  doesn’t  sound very glam, but beautiful, glowing skin does begin in your gut. So before you think about buying the latest miracle cream or speed dialing your facialist, why not invest your time and money into improving your digestive health? This will help you achieve a smooth and balanced complexion, reducing the amount of skin products you need to get your skin looking flawless and glowing!

However we can make our skin reveal its natural glow by following some simple tricks.

Rest Well:  Take Proper sleep for healthy, glowing skin.  It has been proven in a study that without proper rest our sebaceous glands (the glands responsible for oil in our skin ) are over active.  That means you wake up with an oily face while the rest of your body is dehydrated.  Pamper yourself to pamper your skin.  Take time off to paint your nails, go for a walk, listen to your favourite music or admire yourself in the mirror.  A happy and confident YOU will result in a Happy Skin.

Drink A Lot Of Water For Clear Skin.  Water washes out the toxins from your body and cleans up your skin.  It also helps in replacing redundant body fluids in your system.

Eat A Balanced Diet.  You are what you eat.  So ensure you eat on time and do not over eat.  Eat fruits and vegetables and make sure you have a great lifestyle and diet.

Exfoliate And Cleanse Your Skin .  Dirty skin is a hub for germs, oil and dead skin cells.  Cleansing your skin too frequently or using harsh cleansers can dry out your skin, causing flakiness which can clog pores. It can also cause your skin to produce more oils to compensate. Instead, wash your skin twice a day with a gentle,  cleanser so as not to destroy the acid mantle of the skin, which protects against moisture loss and bacteria.  Periodical cleansing ensures your pores breathe freely.  Exfoliate twice a week to keep your skin fresh and glowing.

Apply Sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun, pollution free radicles in the atmosphere.  The rays of the sun are very harmful to the skin.  Wear sunscreen whether you are in the house or going out, especially between 12 noon to 3pm when the rays of the sun are relentlessly hot.

Say No to Chemicals:To achieve ultimate perfection we may fall prey to chemical based peels and treatments. However, many chemical-based skin products not only contain potentially harmful ingredients, they can also excessively dry out skin and exacerbate skin problems.
Exercise to maintain the elasticity of your skin.  Make sure that every part of your body is stretched.  The best time to do this is early morning.  This will keep your skin supple and elastic.  Brisk walking or jogging can help you sweat out toxins and dirt.  Exercise produces endorphins in your body-  the hormones that keep you happy.
Use Mineral Makeup:Its very tempting to use coloured makeup cosmetics that are advertised by glamorous celebrities and models. However, these products can be harsh to our skin and cause further damage. It is best to invest in mineral makeup that are non-comedogenic  and do not clog pores. Products containing zinc oxide will fight against acne causing bacteria.
Sip on Green Tea:Green tea is a fountain of youth.Sipping regularly on green tea can reduce chances of breakout and premature aging. It has high antioxidant content that fight free radical damage and ensures a healthy skin.
Relax and Destress: Stress stimulates the production of hormones which stimulate oil production in the skin’s sebaceous glands. Stress is also thought to instigate the release of chemicals which can lead to inflammation. To help keep your skin clear and spot-free, try to find healthy ways to deal with stress such as exercise, meditation or pampering. Try to talk through problems with someone else as well to help relieve any worries.  Too much stress can result in allergic reactions, acne, dark circles under the eyes or long term skin problems. Do something to feel good about yourself.   Avoid stress to prevent Skin Problems.  In short, be kind to yourself.
