I have been wanting to make Honey Mustard Chicken with Turmeric and Avocado for a while. I had all the ingredients in my refrigerator and was waiting to feel the urge to make it. I also wanted to use up the odds and ends in my kitchen, so one weekend I decided to go for it and paired my Honey Mustard Chicken with Turmeric and Avocado with some cheesy pasta and a simple cucumber salad. Nothing fancy, just simple, home cooked, delicious food.

The Recipe:
2 kg skinless chicken, jointed, washed and drained; 1/4 cup prepared mustard; 1/4 cup honey; 2 tbsp mashed avocado; 1/2 tsp grated turmeric; salt and pepper to taste; 2 cloves garlic, crushed; 1 tbsp olive oil.
Garnish: More Basil Leaves according to taste.
Whisk the honey, mustard, turmeric, avocado, olive oil, salt and pepper to a smooth consistency. Stir in the garlic. Marinade the chicken for 30 minutes in a large dish ensuring all the pieces are coated. Place chicken on baking tray covered with foil and pour the marinade over. Grill in preheated oven at 230 degrees Celcius / 440F for 10 minutes each side ( time depends on your oven) or until chicken is cooked and juices run clear. Serve hot with a cheesy pasta and simple cucumber salad made with soy sauce, sugar and sesame seeds. A wonderful family meal that can be made effortlessly in minutes.

Here is a baked version of Honey Mustard Chicken that I had made earlier which is also a crowd pleaser.
