Dessert Brownie Squares

Sugar Free Dessert Brownie Squares
Some time ago, a friend requested me to make some brownies for her without sugar. So I tried out a few recipes and came up with my own. I named it Dessert Brownie Squares even before I started because it’s my idea for a healthy sweet treat. I baked it a few times before I was satisfied with the results. And they turned out fine. The best part is the lovely, dark chocolate colour. When you see Dessert Brownie Squares, you just want to pick it up and eat it right away. And one is never enough. Dessert Brownie Squares are a great gift for anyone and more often than not, I find myself making these for ourselves for a special treat.
The Recipe For Sugar Free Dessert Brownie Squares:
The Ingredients For Dessert Brownie Squares:
10 soft dates
2 medium very ripe bananas
1/3 cup light cocoa powder
1/3 cup dark cocoa powder
3/4 cup instant oats
2 large eggs
3/4 cup almond meal
1/8 cup low-fat milk
2 tsp vanilla essence
1/4 cup maple syrup
60 gms salted butter at room temperature
1 tsp each of nuts, seeds and craisins ( cranberries)
Method For Dessert Brownie Squares:
Blend together dates ( remove seed), bananas, light cocoa powder, dark cocoa powder, instant oats, eggs, almond meal, low-fat milk, vanilla essence, maple syrup, and 60 gms butter ( at room temperature). The batter should be a dark, thick pouring consistency.
Pour into a lined and greased 20 cm/8″ approximately square tin, sprinkle dried cranberries, melon, and pumpkin seeds on top( 1 tsp each) and bake in a preheated oven at 200 Celcius for 40 minutes or until a skewer inserted in centre comes out clean. Cool in the oven for 20 minutes. Transfer to fridge and completely chill overnight before cutting into squares and serving.
NB: When lining the pan ensure the baking paper overlaps on two sides. This makes it easy to lift out and cut after chilling in the refrigerator.
