New Year’s Eve And New Year Recipes
New Year’s Eve was always a much anticipated day in our growing up years. My Mum made a traditional banquet after which, we dressed up and walked to church for the midnight service. It was in Kannada and we joyously welcomed the New Year with songs and a commitment to do our best in the New Year, while thanking God for the past year. It was a lot of fun walking to church at 11.30 pm on roads that were so safe in the company of friends. The New Year’s Day Menu was always the left overs of the previous day and various eats that survived the Christmas week. It was a lot of fun and reminiscing over the past leaves me nostalgic and a little teary. Nowadays it is a morning service, commitment and choir which is just as inspiring. This year I chose to share some recipes that could be your New Year’s Eve choice with left-overs saved for the morrow. You could also make it on the first.
Thank you to all my subscribers and looking forward to many more in 2024.
