Delicious Fruit Tea

Delicious Fruit Tea
One wouldn’t expect tea to be used in a dessert and I was pleasantly surprised when we visited Saigon / Ho Chi Minh in December 2018. We had gone there to meet up with my childhood friend who planned to be there too. We had some great experiences and our host took us to a lovely, little cafe where drinking coffee was the ultimate experience. For those who preferred tea ( guilty), there was Fruit Tea. I assumed it was one of the usual herbal tea that abound everywhere. I was pleasantly surprised to note that the long glass served to me was full of fruits and tasted absolutely wonderful. So when we got back to Kuala Lumpur I had to make it myself. I used my favourite Ginger Honey Tea with a dash of lemon. I included it in one of my Dessert Classes and it was a big hit. Here’s how you make it.

300 ml cold water
1/4 red apple, cored and sliced
1/2 peach, sliced
5 pineapple cubes
5 lychees
5 seedless grapes, halved
mint leaves
squish of lemon (optional)
Method For Delicious Fruit Tea
Wash and remove seeds from fruit. Mix the tea and water in a bowl. Add the fruit and refrigerate for a few hours. Add the mint leaves just before serving and serve in tall glasses with a long spoon. You can also use bowls like I did. Am sure you will love it as much as I did.
