Angel Boy Isaac March 2010 – 29th December 2024

My heart shattered into a million pieces when we got the dreadful call from the vet.  Our beloved feline Angel Boy had crossed The Rainbow Bridge.  Words cannot describe the pain I felt and will continue to feel.  Angel was a gift from God at a time when our daughter was going through a tough time at school, college and church (yes, at church).  To sum it up in one word ‘Bullying.’  He was only 6 weeks old and as adorable as one could imagine.  His striking feature was his beautiful curled tail that all of us loved to stroke or simply hold.

His Beautiful Tail

He grew up into a handsome tabby with stripes and a gentle nature.  No matter what, Angel never scratched or bit or kicked.  He was as angelic as his name.  He loved to be petted at odd hours and came for his cuddles in the early morning when we were fast asleep (1 am, 2 am and so on) and demanded to crawl inside the comforter with us.  He was very impartial, spending time with each of us in turn, at various times.  He loved his food, especially fish and made a beeline to our plates whenever he detected the smell of fish.  And would not leave until he got his share.  He continued to be a joy to us for nearly 15 years and we enjoyed every minute of his company.

When our daughter left home, he became my special cat keeping me company throughout the day as if to tell me he was there to look after me always.  He loved music and joined me every day when I sang, especially parts of the Halleluia Chorus, Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, If you’re happy and you know it, We wish you A Merry Christmas, Row, Row Row, Row Your Boat and many others.  I learnt so much from him- how to be patient, persistent, happy, resilient and courageous.  He was one brave boy.  Even the vet said so and that he really lived up to his name, never once complaining or being difficult about taking his medicine and injections.

He was also a fastidious cat- always cleaning and grooming himself and making use of the litter box even when he was unwell. He followed me everywhere, including the bathroom.  I drew the line at him hanging around while I was bathing and he was so happy to discover he could keep tabs on me via the bathroom window.  Oh my Angel!

When he fell sick, the vets assured us that he would recover and we were happy to help him do so.  Unfortunately, he had a relapse and even though we rushed him to the vet, it was not to be.  Angel spread his wings and flew into eternal love and light to his Creator like a butterfly.

There are so many memories of him in our house- my bed where he used to bask in the sun, my torn bedsheets where he loved to sharpen his claws, his bowl and favourite foods (what else but fish), his love for shoes and greeting guests by rolling all over their bags and shoes, putting his nose into the fridge to check for fish, jumping on my back when I was hanging clothes or on Nehru when he was ready to leave for office, simply sitting by my side while I read or watched TV or just demanding his food when it was time to be fed and so many more.  How could I ever forget all this?

I love you my Angel Boy and always will, until the end of time.  You were my love, my joy, my support and sunshine through dark days. I know you are singing with the angels, happy and free of all pain.

RIP my darling boy.  We will meet again.

RIP Angel March 2010 – 29th Dec 2024
Angel wasn’t doing well for a while, and he went back to God on Saturday 28th night/Sunday 29th morning.
He was the 2nd out of 9 that I’ve had and very sweet. He’d climb into bed around 2 or 3 am and make soft maos at you while purring and belly flopping, he loved his petting sessions, and I just loved his tail. It was curled and I used to love holding it, he never minded. Angel was the kind of cat who’d spend time with you all day, I mean all my cats have unique traits but I noticed that he’d sit in a corner or on your books if I took a study break.
I unfortunately didn’t get to see him one last time, and I feel very sad about this. I made it a point to take photos of all my cats the last time I went to KL because I felt it was important to have those memories.
He used to hero worship Tigger, and would follow him everywhere as a kitten. I’m going to miss how he’d join in for lunch and dinner, especially if it was fish, which he absolutely loved. We trained him to sing a lot of songs with us on cue. He was the only one who’d oblige – the rest couldn’t have been bothered. And he always smelt so good! I loved to bury my nose in his fur.
If you have a pet and you find certain things they do annoying, just know that one day they’ll be gone and all those annoying things were moments that could have been very special… I’d give anything to have another meal with him.
Thank you for giving us 14 years. It wasn’t enough 💔🌹🐟
