Garlic Cheese Bread Flower

Garlic Cheese Bread Flower
Garlic bread is so very easy to make, both from scratch or with bought bread. Whenever we had left over bread, I would convert it to garlic bread since everybody loved it. That was pretty often when the girls were growing up and had healthy appetites. I always had something tasty on standby and Garlic Bread was a firm favourite. I even went to the extent of baking garlic bread which was very satisfying. Some time back I saw this video on making garlic cheese bread flower and I was hooked. So I saved the video and when I had enough of bread left over, I made this wonderful garlic cheese bread flower. It’s just a slice of bread transformed and your taste buds will be too, when you make it and eat it yourself!

The Recipe For Garlic Cheese Bread Flower
Ingredients For Garlic Cheese Bread Flower:
5 slices of fresh Wholemeal Bread (stale bread breaks easily and cannot be made into a flower)
3 large cloves Garlic, crushed to a paste
1 tbsp Cheddar Cheese for each slice
50 gms salted Butter at room temperature
1 tsp Mixed Herbs
Method For Making Garlic Cheese Bread Flower
Mix butter, garlic paste and herbs together. Butter the slices lavishly. Sprinkle cheese on each slice. Make slits at all four sides ( see pictorial for guidance). Fold each edge towards the centre and tuck in the final edge. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 175 Celcius/350 F for 10 minutes. Garnish with cherry tomatoes if desired or devour immediately with a bowl of piping hot soup ( I served this with egg and cream of corn soup).
Some Other Toppings
Sweet Toppings like cream cheese and jam. Omit the garlic and the mixed herbs for sweet toppings.
Cream Cheese and Maple Syrup
Honey and Sliced bananas
Chaat Toppings. I used grated carrots, yam bean and tamarind date sauce with the garlic bread
Grated Carrots, Radish, Coriander leaves and Scrambled eggs.
Be creative and combine whatever you like. It should taste phenomenal.
